Parent Info Sessions

Parent Info Sessions are a great way to develop a greater understanding of what might be going on for your child and strategies that work for your family.  We are able to develop information sessions tailored to your needs so if you have a topic you would like covered please let us know, chances are other families also have similar questions.

Junior Foodies

Little Foodies and Junior Foodies are food exploration groups for fussy eaters.  They are both 6 weeks programs designed using the SOS approach to feeding.  Little Foodies is for ages 3-5 (pre-kinder) and Junior Foodies is for ages 5 – 8 (school aged).

Social Thinkers 

Social Thinkers is a small group program facilitated by our OTs which follows the We Thinkers! Social Explorers curriculum.  The program involves teaching of various social topics with opportunities to practice these skills with their peers in a small and fun setting.  The groups are ideal for children between the ages of approx. 5 – 8.  There are two ‘levels’ and each level runs for 5 weeks.  The topics covered include:

Social Thinkers 1

Thinking Thoughts and Feeling Feelings, The Group Plan, Thinking with your Eyes, Body in the Group and Whole Body Listening.

Social Thinkers 2

Figuring out hidden rules and expected and unexpected behaviour, making a smart guess, flexible vs stuck thinking, matching the size of a reaction to the size of a problem and sharing imagination.

Social Foodies

Social Foodies is a fantastic cooking, mealtime and social group for kids aged 7 – 8 and 9 – 13.  In the group we work on developing social and conversational skills, increasing exposure to new foods, learning life skills such as preparing a meal, using kitchen appliances and tools, developing fine motor and hand skills.

Core For Kids

Core for Kids is a fun movement group designed to develop your child’s core stability, global strength and gross motor coordination.

Sensory and Emotional Regulation Group

This is a group run for children to learn sensory and emotional regulation skills.  The group combines various modalities and programs including sensory calming strategies, yoga, mindfulness and Zones of Regulation.

Sense Rugby

Sense Rugby is a rugby based Occupational Therapy program where modified drills are used to help kids process sensory information, develop attention and coordination, manage their emotions, socialise with other children and be part of a team.  This runs during school terms together with Craig Robberds from Wests Rugby.

Parent Info Sessions

Food Exploration Group for Fussy Eaters

This info night is for parents of children who eat a limited variety of foods or display anxiety or worry around mealtimes or unfamiliar foods. The session will help parents feel they have a better understanding of their child’s behaviours around food and mealtimes and arm them with strategies to increase their child’s food variety and decrease their worry around meal times.

*The session does not cover any information about nutrition. It will focus on sensory sensitivities and exposure, oral motor skills and behaviours around mealtimes.

We can work individually with your child to develop their motor skills, interaction and play skills, participation in activities of daily living, sensory processing skills and emotional regulation.

Our clinic is a fun and engaging space equipped with fantastic equipment, swings and games to ensure your child loves coming to OT.
